People all around the UK need guide dogs to support them with their disability- whether this being deaf or blind etc.

An event in Sheffield has been hosted for guide dog awareness at the Student Union.

This included people coming and talking to guide dog owners about their experience and even petting the dogs for a donation of at least two pounds.

Martin South (49), owner of guide dog, Keen, said: “Since I’ve had Keen, he’s built my confidence and I’ve got more independence.”

Megan Smith (21), organiser of the event, said: “We do it once a year and its our biggest event of the year.

“It raises a lot of money and awareness for our charity.”
